Document Actions

Donation Guidelines - Second Edition

Second Edition Resale Shop accepts donations of clean, new or gently used clothing and household items, including furniture. Garage sale left-overs (with manager approval)


Items Second Edition cannot accept:

  • Torn, stained, wet, soiled or items with pet hair.
  • Large exercise equipment such as treadmills, stationary bikes, rowing machines, etc.
  • Building materials, doors, windows, door knobs, light fixtures, carpet, etc.
  • Automotive parts, including tires, hubcaps, etc.
  • Mattresses and box springs, hide-a-beds, futons, used bed pillows
  • Window coverings including blinds, shades, drapes and drapery rods
  • Large appliances including refrigerators, washer and dryers, etc.
  • Car seats, infant swings, cribs, high chairs, port-a-cribs, bouncy seats
  • Hazardous chemicals and flammable products such as fertilizer, cleaning solutions, paint, etc.
  • Analog or floor model TVs, desk top computers, monitors, printers, fax machines.

Any exception must be approved by the manager.

Donation receipts are available for tax purposes. Second Edition is an ongoing fundraiser for the Cedar Mill Community Library Association, a 501(c)3, tax-exempt corporation dedicated to providing free public library services.  For information on charitable contributions visit WWW.IRS.GOV and see Publication 526.

The Cedar Mill Community Library accepts books, DVDs, music CDs, audio books on CD, and software donations.  Please take these donations to the Library's check-out desk.
