Teen Library Council forming

Do you read a lot of books? Do you have ideas about teen programs you’d like to see at the library? Do you enjoy creating displays and flyers for events? The CMCLA Teen Library Council needs YOU!

The mission of the CMCLA Teen Library Council is to assist the library in creating events and developing resources that fulfill the needs and interests of teens, and to promote the library to teens and the larger community.

Through the TLC, the Cedar Mill Community Library Association offers teens in grades 6-12 the opportunity to make a positive contribution to both of our libraries by giving input on teen resources at the libraries as well as developing events for teens.

By joining the TLC you will have the opportunity to make friends, get volunteer credit, gain skills and experience for the future (helpful on college and job applications) & HAVE YOUR VOICE HEARD!

Meetings are the first Monday of every month, 5 to 6:30 pm, starting October 5.  Meeting attendance and participation in events is expected.

To apply, fill out an application (available at both library locations) and submit it to the Youth Services Desk at either library or mail to Mark Richardson at the Cedar Mill Community Library, 12505 NW Cornell Rd., Portland, OR 97229. Please return your application by September 17th.
