Document Actions

Donation Guidelines

Guidelines for materials accepted as donations to the library for use in used book sales and the collection. Donations are accepted at both library locations.

Items we cannot accept ...

  • Damaged, torn, soiled or mildewed items

  • Textbooks

  • Reader's Digest Condensed Books

  • Computer manuals, including programming, computer languages, etc.

  • Travel guides older than seven (7) years

  • Encyclopedias or yearbooks

  • Books with highlighting or underlining

  • Magazines

  • Adult audio music cassettes

  • Bootleg or copied recordings

  • CD & DVD empty cases

We DO accept ...

  • Books

  • Audio Books on CD/tape

  • DVDs

  • Music CDs

  • Software

CMCLA personnel will determine the best use of these items. They may be placed in circulation for others to enjoy or sold to raise money for library operation.

Donation receipts are available for tax purposes.

Donations accepted during library open hours.

Due to space limitations, please coordinate with our book sale volunteers if you have a large quantity of items to donate.  If they are not in, leave a note with your contact information and you will be called.

Donations subject to approval.
