Book Drop
At Cedar Mill Community Library, the bookdrop is closed when the doors are open. This means that library materials must be brought inside the library to be returned.
Here's why:
-
SAFETY is the first and foremost reason. We are a family-centered library and we want our patrons, especially our younger ones, to be safe. Vehicles driving in front of the door could endanger our patrons as they enter or leave the library.
-
DAMAGE TO LIBRARY MATERIALS is a big concern when using the bookdrop. We care about our materials and hate to see them get damaged. Books get torn and bent,CD cases get broken, magazines get mangled.
-
CHECKING-IN EFFICIENCY would be lost with a permanent bookdrop. Cedar Mill Community Library is one of the fastest in the county at checking in books and we want to keep it that way.
-
OUR PATRONS ARE OUR FIRST PRIORITY. We enjoy serving everyone in person, and we like our patrons to come inside and enjoy our library. If it is difficult for you to come into the library to return books, please keep these options in mind: Renew your books by phone during business hours or online anytime. Talk to your circulation staff for special circumstances.
The bookdrop is located just to the left of the front entrance. Visit the bookdrop after the library closes (8:00 pm Monday - Friday and 5:00 p.m. Saturday & Sunday) until opening hours (10:00 am. Monday-Saturday, 12 on Sunday).
Ask about the WCCLS Outreach Program if you are homebound.
